Thanks, Heather, for asking about the picture in the frame. This is what was in the frame to let our families see the good news!

And just for pure laughs, here are a few (and trust me there were a lot more) we tried before we found one that worked. Higgins was acting like he was being punished and was completely miserable. Murphy just wanted the treat! Notice his determination...=)

Catch up!

Since I haven't posted in awhile I thought I would play catch up and do a little reflection.
One month ago while on vacation, Brian and I received the phone call that a birthmom had chosen us and she would be giving birth to a girl in November. I can't believe it has already been a month!
Not much has really happened since then. We have stayed in contact with our birth mom via email, and so far everyone is healthy and doing well.

I hope our families don't mind but I wanted to share the reactions of our families as we shared our long awaited news!
Enjoy!
Evan took my face in his hands and started shaking it saying something about getting a baby! It was so sweet=)

Completed floors in nursery

Sorry it has taken me so long, but our computer has given me fits when uploading pictures. We shall see how this goes.
So, Jack came down and helped us get started, and Aaron came to finish it up. Although it should be noted that Brian could have done it by himself=)

The boys are trying to figure out what in the world is going on! Did you notice how close the crib was in the doorway?! Brian measured before we took the crib apart and we had 1/8 of an inch on either side. That's my engineer!

Pictures coming!

Brian and Aaron finished the nursery and it is stunning! Everything looks beautiful together, and we love it!
I will try to get pictures up in the next couple of days so check back soon.

When it Rains, it Pours

Pours out blessings! I bet I scared each one of you that I was going to post something bad, huh?! This saying is usually associated with negative things, but not today!
Our agency put us in touch with another adoptive couple that we were in training with back in January. They have also been matched, and will be blessed with a precious little boy in September! Randomly enough, we sat right next to this couple and spoke with them more than any other couple. So I called them up and spoke with her for a good while, swapping adoption stories and giving our thoughts on a variety of matters. We found out they live about 10 minutes from the city where OUR birthmom leaves and will deliver. Here comes the blessing......
Brian and I knew that once our little girl is born (that sounded cool!), we would be down there for at least 2 days, possibly more depending on the situation, etc. That means hotel bills on top of gas bills. Not the end of the world, but one more cost to add to the adoption that is not mentioned in the final cost. As God knows all these details, he orchestrated this perfect match. Becky offered for us to stay with them anytime we are down to see our birthmom! No hotel costs! And a much homier place to stay. ON top of that, we will then get to see their little bundle of joy!
God is good......... prayers are being answered........

Showers of Blessings

If you haven't heard..............we're getting a baby!!!!
We received a phone call a couple weeks ago letting us know that a birthmom has chosen us! The little one will be biracial and is due in November. Did I mention she's having A GIRL!?!!?!! Let the bow making begin! This girl will never be without a bow in her hair!
For now, these are all the details we can divulge. I will say that the Lord's hand has been SO evident is this situation, and our birthmom is great! Praise God!

The nursery is complete with a new rug and beautiful new floors to come (this weekend, in fact)! We are ripping out the nasty carpet currently in there and putting down laminate floors like we have in the living room and dining room. Now that we have all the furniture in there it has to all come back out! Thanks to a very dear friend I won't have to do the moving. He is giving up a Saturday to come help Brian put the floors in. Thank you, Jack! Pictures may come Sunday. We will see how it goes!

We are sending off our matching price now that we are matched with a birthmom. This is $5500. The next and final payment will come in November when we sign ($6000).

Thanks for all of your prayers and constant support. We have loved seeing the reactions of our families and friends! God is so good! Please be praying for a healthy little girl and birthmom. Also help us in praying to trust that God will provide financially once we are home with the little one for 6 months!
